When You Don't Win…You Learn.(3 min read)

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.” – Steve Jobs

Hey friends,

Let’s have a moment of honesty. In the past month, Meghan and I have lost three potential listing opportunities.
Not gonna lie, it stings.

In this industry, it’s easy to tie your self-worth to the “yes.” But sometimes, despite the effort, the relationship, and the alignment, we’re just not the ones picked. It makes you pause. Reflect. And yes, briefly question everything.

But here’s what we’ve learned (and relearned): staying true to who we are is non-negotiable.

At Zoll Homes, we don’t buy internet leads or pour thousands into ad spend. We don’t chase clout. We focus on connection. We’ve built our business around referrals from people who know us, trust us, and believe in what we stand for.
And that foundation? It’s one we’ll choose every time.

That said, if you’re planning to sell your home, interviewing multiple agents is smart. In fact, you should. According to the National Association of Realtors, sellers interview an average of 2.8 agents before choosing one to list their home. That conversation helps you find someone whose strategy, communication, and values line up with yours. It’s a big decision. Treat it like one.

And for our buyers out there, we see you grinding.
In 2023, buyers submitted an average of 5 offers before getting one accepted (HomeLight, 2023). It’s a tough market in many areas. That’s why persistence and partnership matter. You need a team that doesn’t just open doors, but keeps them open until you find the one.

So no, we didn’t “win” those listings last month.
But what we’re winning at? Integrity. Authenticity. Real relationships.
And we’ll take that every day of the week.

Thanks for being part of our people. We don’t take that lightly. If you or someone you know is thinking about buying or selling, we’re here. For those of you who are in the thick of the home buying or selling process, hang in there! The celebration is right around the corner!
