Is There Ever a Perfect Time? (Spoiler: Nope.) (2 min read)
Oh Hey Friends!
For some Michigan school districts, the bell has already rung and backpacks are packed. Brighton isn’t one of them…at least not yet. However, high school football practice has officially started. Which means my summer mornings now consist of waking a 14-year-old at an hour that, in his mind, should be punishable by law. He greets me with the warmth of a cat being put in a bathtub, while I scroll through old photos wondering how we went from sweet to sass.
That got me thinking about time in general.
I hear it all the time:
“I just haven’t found the time.”
“We’re going to push this back until the timing’s better.”
“There's just so much going on.”
When it comes to buying or selling a home, starting a family, or making any big life change, does the “perfect time” even exist? Or is it just a unicorn we’re all chasing while the days (and football practices and the teen eye-rolls) keep marching on?
Here’s the truth: you have time for what you prioritize. Whether it’s working out, finally reading that book on your nightstand, actually going out to dinner with your friends instead of just talking about it, or tackling the upgrades to prep your home for sale, your schedule will make room for what matters to you most.
In real estate, I’ve seen this play out countless times. Families who thought they needed another year to “get ready” ended up moving in weeks because the right home popped up. Sellers who were convinced they’d wait until spring suddenly listed in the fall because the market and their priorities lined up.
Timing isn’t always about a calendar. It’s about readiness, priorities, and sometimes, a little leap of faith.
So, whether you’re thinking about moving, starting a project, or just wrangling your teenager out of bed at dawn… maybe the best time is just now.
If real estate is on your “someday” list, let’s talk now, because “someday” has a sneaky way of becoming “too late.”
Reply to this email, and we’ll figure out the timing together.
This Week’s Thought Starter:
“If you can get a teenager out of bed before 7 a.m., think about what else you can accomplish… like even sell your house.”
